Steven Mickelsen, M.D.

Dr. Steven Mickelsen started Field Medical, Inc. in 2022. He is a board-certified Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist and experienced business leader. In the cardiac care industry, he is widely recognized as a leader who was responsible for ushering in the use of pulsed field ablation technology to treat patients.

 

Before Field Medical, Dr. Mickelsen founded FARAPULSE, Inc. which was later acquired by Boston Scientific. He previously was the Chief Translational Science Officer at Acutus Medical and continues to be sought for his medical and business insights. Dr. Mickelsen speaks publicly about the revolution occurring with next-generation pulsed field ablation to address unmet needs in cardiac patients. In addition to his leadership responsibilities at Field Medical, Dr. Mickelsen is a practicing physician at Scripps Memorial Hospital in California.

 

Before entering the medical profession, Dr. Mickelsen was an accomplished musician. He was the front man for not one, but two, bands that toured professionally and landed a recording contract.
